Observation and intuitive response to a visual stimulus are the two main contributing factors to a successful execution of meaningful art in my humble opinion; this and the overwhelming awe of an inspired natural world that surrounds me.
"An artist sees by observing the relationships of color, value, shape and texture," remarked fellow artist, Richard Robinson, "which is very different from how most people look at the world."
Thus it is with me and with my art. I surround and immerse myself in the observation and execution of a painting in rich color, subtle to impactful value shifts, tactile qualities and illusive, ethereal shapes.
Do not attempt to pigeonhole my art; however, as I paint what moves me at the moment: today, abstract landscape and last week a Southwestern landscape executed in a contemporary realism style.
